Aim of Unit 9 Human Resource Management for Service Industries
The study constitutes understanding of human resources management. Investigation would be made upon laws of employment and its effects in businesses. The selection and recruitment processes are the main roles of human resource management. This would be done in order to develop the skills of and administration of human resources. The main focus would be stretched on development and training processes in business. The practicality in development skills would be determined by the effectively developing the administration skills. As a result the outcomes in contribution to business could be determined. The study relates to hospitality industry and evidences ensured upon it.
LO1 Understand human resource management
Human resource management could be determined by focusing express study on forecasting, planning, developing, training and recruiting. Such focus would also include various managerial skills of human resource management. The skills that are required for human resource management are monitoring the employees so that they could track and develop the employees effectively. Apart from that budget is also a part that would come under the shed of human resource management. The factors that could influence planning human resource would include internal and external roles. A plan for human resources which would analyze the demand and supply is also important.
LO2 Understand the effect of employee relations and employment law on service industries businesses
Creating favourable relations between employees is the prime role of human resource management. Human resource management has to work in business by implying the respected employment laws. Employment relations could be defined by taking some major topics into it. Such topics would include developing the cultures of working environment, participation of employees, involving them and managing the conflicts. The laws of employment consist of a whole lot of legislations. Such legislations include Employment Relations Act, Employment Rights Act. Ensuring equality and protecting employees from all kinds of discrimination is a major role of human resources management.
LO3 Understand the recruitment and selection process
Human resources management is mainly kept within a business for recruiting and selection processes. For conducting recruitments human resources management had to determine many factors. Such factors include labour market effects, needs of an organization, analyzing the job, specifying the person and methods.
LO4 Understand training and development in service industries businesses
Training and developing is a part of study in human resources management. Conducting programmes and training the members in business is an important part to study. Performing debates, training and analyzing such are the focus of human resources management. Lastly setting targets and giving benefits to the members in business helps in creating a better relationship between the employees.
