LO1 Understand differing perspectives of quality in relation to health and social care services

This section would cover the study of quality from the angles of the staff, users and different stakeholders. It would cover the quality from the viewpoint of the external parties and would examine it using some models like those of Berry, Zethami among others. This would also cover the quality aspect form the angles of control, technology, audit, assurance among others. This section would also cover the aspect from the angle of the quality commission, health service, and careers, among others.

LO2 Understand strategies for achieving quality in health and social care services

This section would help in knowing the ways in which quality can be achieved. The ways described would cover the standards, ways of implementing and the barriers. Standards covered would include concepts like the indicators of performance, codes of practice, different laws and legislations on quality. The implementation part would include the process like planning, monitoring among others. The part describing the barriers to implementation of quality would categorize the barriers in internal and external part.

LO3 Be able to evaluate systems, policies and procedures in health and social care services

This section would describe the policies, systems, and procedures in the healthcare and social care. It would include the description of the process like total management of quality, process control, and circles of quality among others. It would also describe the various systems and structures at the different levels which are involved in quality in the social care and health care like the NHS among others. This section would also cover some aspects like the improvement in the quality with different methods.

LO4 Understand methodologies for evaluating health and social care service quality

This section would describe the ways in which quality is monitored or examined in the healthcare and social care. The methods described would include the ones like the questionnaire, surveys, approach of focus groups among others. This section would also describe the various standards required in the measurement of the quality like through different external and internal methods. The other methods of improving the quality described in this section would include the consultation of the services users, involving panels among others.
