Aim of Unit 23 Employability Skills

Unit 23 Employability Skills would help in understanding what capacities are needed to be employable in the sectors of social care and healthcare. Skills of the interpersonal type would be covered in this section apart from the skills which are transferable. The mechanisms of working in an environment having teams would also be dealt in this section. Various ways of working in daily set up in the solving of different problems is crucial in this section. Strategies associated with dealing with problems in teams would also be covered here. Practices which are reflective in the area of employability in the healthcare and social care would also be covered.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this unit a learner will:

LO1 be able to determine own responsibilities and performance

A social and health care worker has to be responsible and dedicated towards the task. Thus, learners are served with clear ideas regarding what areas are required to improve. This is included with           learning skills and employment legislation. Performance objectives are ascertained. Individual appraisal strategies have been highlighted with 360 degree evaluation process. Data protection and judgmental of data are also addressed and this also addresses management objectives. Motivation and performance works best in this. 

LO2 be able to develop interpersonal and transferable skills

The important factors which are present in this are effective communication skills, time m

anagement, interpersonal skills and problem solving. An effective communication can be formed in two different ways which are verbal and non verbal. Apart from that formal and informal feedback also works best in this regards. Time management is important to set the work objective. Steady work plan is required to make the plan effective enough. In order to solve any issue, learners must know about the way of conducting problem analysis. 

LO3 Understand the dynamics of working with others

In any organization, employees must work in a team and learning team building skills  are important. Long-term corporate objectives have to address. The problem solving scope and the way of developing short term short term projects are required. Thus, the learners have to learn and be aware of the skill. Team health evaluation, monitoring and feedback, coaching skills and effective leadership skills are an important part of this part of this unit. 

LO4 be able to develop strategies for problem solving

A learner has to be specific regarding addressing the issue. Alternative outcomes are  also  identified  from this. The learners should be aware of problem-solving methods and tools along with tracking method. The way of implementing solving methods has been addressed and practical application has forecasted. The actions which can be incorporated in this are timescale and critical path. Only addressing the issue is not enough. The learner should have clear knowledge of f evaluation method as well.
